Peak Performance Pillar #3 – Accountability

Change is scary.  It can be terrifying.  Every step of the way logic is tugging and pulling at us, determined to hold us back, to keep us stuck; and at some point, it’s going to get overwhelming.  

Having a goal and the self-discipline to move forward are important, but they’re never going to be enough, because as human beings, we are not designed to beat our own logic. That’s where the 3rd Pillar in my Peak Performance Success System – Accountability – comes in.

Accountability bridges the gap between intention and results.  

We must have someone or something holding us accountable to get us through the tough spots.  We need someone in our life who is not satisfied with our present level of accomplishment; someone that will push us to greater and greater levels of achievement. 

We all need mentors and coaches.  

See, friends, family, and co-workers love us  just the way we are; right where their logic can explain things; right where they are comfortable.  A mentor loves us too much to leave us the way we are.  That’s why good coaches are so effective.  They can see past our logic.

We all need accountability in place to ensure we act according to our new, desired behavior until it becomes a habit.  Accountability is a topic that we hit hard in my Online Coaching Program.
